Richard Eisermann first entered the Dirt Cafe project as a guest of the Slow Debate that was was created for the 2005 London Design Festival. He has continued as a collaborator and is helping this year to review the project and advise on the future of the project.  He will be a guest of the Water Debate, bringing a design perspective to the table.

He is the co-founder of Prospect. As described on his organisation's web site:
'Richard has worked as a designer and strategist for over twenty years. Trained as an industrial designer, he has had a range of professional experiences that have given him a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural outlook. He enjoys solving tough problems, working from both the client and the consultant side, and has had a hand in designing everything from insulin delivery systems to high speed train services. He has also worked in design promotion and education.
      Prior to founding Prospect with Anja, Richard was Director of Design and Innovation at the Design Council, responsible for leading design campaigns in the areas of manufacturing, technology, learning environments, and design skills. He has led design groups while with Whirlpool in Italy, IDEO in Boston and Sottsass Associati in Milan, and has lectured at the Rhode Island School of Design, MIT, the Istituto Europeo di Design, Milan Polytechnic and the Interaction Institute Ivrea. He and his teams have been recipients of numerous awards, including The Smithsonian National Design Award, IDEA/Business Week Awards and design distinctions from iF Hannover, ID Magazine and The Austrian Design Council.'
