The Transglass carafes and glasses are part of the temporary environment and tableware for the Dirt Cafe Water Debate. They have been donated by Tahmineh Javanbakht and Enrico Bressan, the co-founders of Artecnica. As a 'water story' for the Water Salon, Tahmineh will join us and talk about the collaborative process that lead to the creation of the Transglass product line that is part of their Design with Conscience campaign.
With the help of Aid to Artisans, a non-profit organization providing assistance to artisans worldwide, Artecnica collaborated with Guatemalan craftsmen to bring Emma Woffenden and Tord Boontje’s designs to the market. Combining old-world craftsmanship and sophisticated design, each tranSglass® vessel is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece.
Artecnica’s Design With Conscience campaign infuses social and environmental responsibility into design. Artecnica promotes, directs, and sponsors collaborative exchanges between leading designers and artisan communities to create meaningful design that challenges people to adopt a deeper, more sensitive way of thinking about objects.
